It was my third trial when I got selected for an Aaml fellowship and definitely proved the best ever decision of my life. I learned much more than I expect from this platform. It’s been a super amazing journey so far and now when it’s going last month of fellowship it would be safe to conclude that it has a profound and obvious impact on my personality that I can feel. There’s a lot to say about this life changing experience but following one of the Amal’s rules “less is more” I would focus on being specific :)

Through the course of the past two months, we came across a number of interesting projects, provoking weekend sessions, highly motivating online courses, inspiring real life examples and unforgettable group discussions. All the joyful moments we had together, laughter we shared, generous smiles, kind suggestions we gave to each others, respectful interactions with fellows, moral and technical support of Sir Noor Alam and Ma’am Arfa, stupid and sometimes sarcastic jokes we made and a strong bond of friendship and respect we developed will always be revitalized in my heart.

Now coming to the main topic where I am supposed to share any specific story about anything that has a profound effect on my personality. Well it’s a bit tough to accredit a single happening of all the positive change but I would love to mention one of the quotes of Jacqueline Norogratz about living a life of immersion, when she states that:

“Our lives are so short and our time on this planet is so precious, and all we have is each other. So live lives of immersion. They won’t necessarily be easy lives, but in the end it is all what will sustain us”

Though all the sayings of Jacqueline are worth mentioning but this is something that hit me hard. These words reflect back on our purpose of being here in this world as she said “all we have is each other” this reminds me of being human, a humble being whose existence would be a source of prosperity and peace for others. It made me realize the importance and effective use of time, being humble and adaptable to others. Probably I am not able to write what I felt after going through these words of Jacqueline but it had a penetrated positive impact on my personality. 💖🎊

Second most impactful thing were all the real life examples of various personalities such as Edhi sb, and the Ted talks of innovative people. Those practical examples were relatable in most aspects and I have learned a lot from them. A few of the learnings I got from all those stories are:

  • Being consistent
  • Hard Work is the key to success
  • Money and fame are by products of success
  • Every failure is a new opportunity
  • Nothing is impossible
  • Limitations and fears are only in mind
  • Passion is power
  • Self believe is a must to achieve anything
  • Learning is asymmetrical

Along with all these learnings I have narrated and those I don’t mention here, the habit of self reflection, paying gratitude to others and going extra mile in my efforts would be a permanent part of my personality. 💕

A wholehearted gratitude for all the Amal team and fellows!
